How Blackbird works

Hire us for one stage, or all three

Most builders only show up for the middle part. Blackbird can start before there are any drawings, and stay long after you get the keys.

1 Plan

Before a shovel moves

Most of the money is won or lost here. Pin down what you want, what it costs, and what gets drawn. Then the build stops being a gamble.

2 Build

Ground up, start to finish

One builder runs the schedule, the crews, the inspections, and the budget. You get one person to call, and he answers.

3 Improve

Make what you have better

You do not have to move to get the house you want. Additions, remodels, basements, and outdoor space, built to match what is already there.

Why Blackbird

You hire Danny, and Danny is who shows up

Blackbird is not a sales office with a construction department attached. Danny Bird has been building since 2001, and he is the one who walks your job, writes your number, and answers the phone when something comes up.

  • One point of contact. No handoff from the salesman to a project manager you have never met.
  • The budget comes first. You see real numbers before you commit to drawings, not after.
  • Homes and commercial. Two very different trades. Doing both is why our prices land close to the truth.
  • He will tell you no. If the budget does not fit the plan, you hear it up front, not in a surprise bill later.

Where we build

Utah County and the surrounding valley

Based in Provo. Most of our work sits within about forty minutes of the shop.

Outside this list? Ask anyway. Bigger projects travel further.

Questions

The things people ask first

What does "plan, build, improve" actually mean?
It is the three points where a builder can help. Plan is everything before the work starts: whether it can be built on your lot, what it will really cost, the drawings, the permits, and a second look at what someone else has handed you. Build is the building itself, homes or commercial. Improve is work on a building you already have: remodels, additions, basements, and outdoor space. Hire Blackbird for one of the three or all three.
Do you take commercial work, or only homes?
Both. Fitting out a business space, office and store remodels, repairs, add-ons, light commercial, and apartments or townhomes. Commercial requests go straight to Danny. You can submit a work request and describe the job in your own words.
Can you review a project I have already started with someone else?
Yes, and that is a service on its own. As your owner's representative, Danny is on your side, not the builder's. He reads the plans, checks the bids against real costs, watches your bills, and flags problems while they are still cheap to fix. When you hire us for this, we do not bid the work ourselves. That is the whole point. Anything you send us, including other contractors' bids, stays private.
How much does a project cost?
Nobody can answer that from a web page, and be careful with anyone who tries. What we can do fast is tell you whether your budget and your plan match up. That is the answer most people need first, and that call is free.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. Danny looks at the job, talks through what you want, and puts a real number in writing. No charge and no pressure.
How long has Blackbird been around?
Danny has been building since 2001, based in Provo and working across Utah County.
